The Luberon, a massif of the Pre-Alps located in Provence, borders the departments of Vaucluse and Alpes de Haute Provence. It is the land of perched villages, vineyards, castles and festivals. In summer, it attracts nature lovers to its regional nature park.
The villages perched on narrow spaces mostly date from the Middle Ages. Often spectacular to look at, they form belvederes offering magnificent views of the surrounding countryside.
The wine route : the Luberon vineyards cover 3500 hectares and 36 communes. It produces AOC Rosé, Red and White wines. If 80% of the production is directed towards the cooperative cellars, the rest is produced by private owners. The wine trail is worth the diversions.
From Lacoste to La Tour d’Aigues, the keeps and castles, intact or in well-preserved ruins, are a pretext for discovering the tormented past of the Luberon and its remarkable sites.

La Tour d’Aigues is a village that is essentially focused on wine growing. The Cave Terres Valdèze, a producers’ cooperative that produces and distributes local and AOC wines, and the Caveau du Cellier de Marrenon, which packages and distributes wines from the Luberon and Ventoux regions, are testimony to this.
The remains of the Château are a reminder of the glorious past of La Tour d’Aigues. This castle of medieval origin was transformed during the Renaissance. Today it has been partially restored and can be visited. It houses Luberon Côté Sud, the inter-communal tourist office of the Vallée d’Aigues, and exhibitions (earthenware museum, etc.). In summer, a festival takes place there.
